Account Planning was the course that really narrowed my interest in Marketing. Upon completion of the course, I realized I have a passion for research and audience development. My professor was Micheal Thomson, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing for the Ole Miss Athletics Department. His course allowed us to conduct research and create a marketing campaign for real Oxford Businesses.
Our task for the final project was to find the best way to increase customer volume at Oxford McDonald’s. My group conducted a survey to gather consumer thoughts on five categories and used secondary research from McDonald’s to help develop ideas about target audiences and marketing tactics. We created three specific audiences with accompanying marketing strategies.
I served as the leader and designer in the group. I communicated with Mr. Thomson regularly, scheduled and organized group meeting, and designed the leave behind featured in this post in addition to conducting research and gathering insights.
Our group was very successful with this project. We won “best project” in our category (Oxford McDonald’s) and “best presentation” for the entire class.
